3-hour sculpture

3-hour sculpture, 2006.
100 kg lump of dough with extra yeast in aquarium.
Series of 3 photographs.

3-hour sculpture is, as the title insinuates, a sculpture that happens over time.
The sculptural process is the rising of the dough in the aquarium.
This sculptural process translates into a series of photographs.

The work refers Donald Judd’s minimalist sculptures and aims to add a different aesthetic to minimalism. Introducing time as an additional dimension to sculpture and presenting the final outcome as a series of photographs further challenges traditional ideas of sculpture in relation to material and media.
